High School Principal

After teaching for over 17 years I became the Vice-Principal of St. Andrew High School For Girls, The Principal at Ardenne High School and the Interim Principal at Tarrant High School. I was able to successfully advocate for material resources for the schools, build, and in some cases restore, staff morale and I also helped the academic outcome for the students doing CXC to grow by 30% during my time at Ardenne.

School Inspector/ Assesor/ Improvement coach

I operated as a School Improvement Coach with Jamaica National Foundation iLead Project. I worked with principals, vice-principals and middle leaders of 10 schools  chosen by the Ministry of Education that were performing below standard to train and coach them to effect positive change in their schools. I was also the Project Manager for the Jamaica National Foundation iLead Project, a School Inspector for the National Education Inspectorate, Ministry of Education, Jamaica and an Assessor for the National College of Education Leadership, Ministry of Education, Jamaica.

I am an Education Consultant with the Ministry of Education, Jamaica. I also conduct seminars and workshops in primary and secondary schools for both teachers and students in areas such as creative teaching, classroom management, etiquette, teamwork and planning for effective teaching. 

Columnist/

Contributor

For 7 years I was an opinion columnist at the Gleaner where I wrote on social issues such as parenting, family life, and education in Jamaica. 
I also had the privilege of writing one of the chapters in the book "Leadership for Success: The Jamaican School Experience". I was asked to participate in this project along with 16 other principals from primary, new secondary and traditional high schools.
